Caucasus Cycling Network organizes a monthly event called “
CCN Community Ride” to promote cycling culture in the city.
Cycling in Tbilisi can be a significant challenge for someone just starting to use a bicycle as a means of transportation. Encouraging people to use bicycles can sometimes feel risky under current conditions.
The few bike lanes added to Tbilisi in recent years provide hope that progress is being made, and with our active involvement, we can accelerate this process.
During the CCN Community Ride, participants can ride peacefully and learn how to handle various situations, choose safe routes, and more, thanks to the organized event and the abundance of cyclists. The ride covers different parts of the city, including areas with newly marked bike lanes.
Often, citizens express dissatisfaction with the narrowing of roads, citing the low number of cyclists and, consequently, the underutilization of bike lanes. This is why city rides aim to raise awareness about eco-friendly transportation and demonstrate to the public that cyclists need safe spaces to move around.
The event is held in full compliance with traffic rules. You can watch a feature about the CCN Community Ride
