Guruli Bike Days 5th Edition - Kintrishi Valley
Join Guruli Bike Days 2026 for three days of cycling, hiking to Tbikeli Lake, camping, and adventure in Georgia’s Kintrishi Valley.
Guruli Bike Days is a traditional annual event held since 2022, combining cycling, hiking and camping in nature.
The main idea of the event is to explore the natural and cultural attractions of Guria and the surrounding areas by bicycle and on foot.
In 2026, over the course of three days, we will cycle through the Kintrishi Valley, camp in Khino village and hike to Tbikeli Lake 🚴♀️🥾⛺
🗺️ Route
📅 28 August — Kintrishi Valley and Khino Village
🚍 07:00 — Departure from Tbilisi.
📍 At approximately 12:00 — Arrival in the Kintrishi Valley and the start of the cycling route.
🚴♂️ Cycling route details:
- Distance: 31 km;
- Total ascent: +1,330 m;
- Finish: Khino village;
- Overnight stay: In a tent or guesthouse.
Along the way, we will visit:
- 🌉 The Varjanauli Tamar Bridge;
- 🌉 The Tskhemvani Arch Bridge;
- 🏘️ Didvake village;
- ⛪ The Khino Tsminda Monastery of Saint John the Baptist.
📅 29 August — Hike to Tbikeli Lake
🚶♀️ We will hike from Khino village towards Tbikeli Lake via the Sarbiela campsite and return to Khino along the same route.
🏔️ Tbikeli Lake is located approximately 2,000 metres above sea level and is known for its beautiful natural surroundings and spectacular views.
🥾 Hiking route details:
- Distance: 23 km;
- Total ascent: 1,760 m;
- Estimated duration: 10–12 hours.
⚠️ The hike is long and physically demanding. Participants must be physically fit and prepared for a long mountain hike.
📅 30 August — Khino → Kintrishi Valley → Kobuleti Village
🚴♂️ We will descend from Khino village through the Kintrishi Valley towards Kobuleti village.
🚴♂️ Cycling route details:
- Distance: 31 km;
- Total ascent: 430 m.
🚍 At approximately 16:00, we will depart for Tbilisi.
⛺ Campsite Facilities
The following facilities are available at the campsite:
- ✅ Drinking water;
- ✅ River access;
- ✅ Space for pitching tents;
- ✅ Cooking gas.
🍲 Food
Food is not included in the event fee. Participants must bring enough food for approximately 2.5 days.
We recommend choosing lightweight, energy-rich and easy-to-prepare food suitable for long cycling routes and hikes.
📵 Mobile Coverage
There is no mobile network coverage throughout most of the Kintrishi Valley, so phone service will not be available.
Magti network coverage may be available along a short section of the route towards Tbikeli Lake, but you should not rely on it.
Before departure, we recommend informing your family and friends that you may be unreachable by phone for some time during the event.
🎒 Required Equipment
- 🚲 A bicycle in good working condition;
- ⛑️ Cycling helmet;
- 🛞 A spare inner tube compatible with your bicycle;
- 🥾 Hiking shoes;
- 👖 Long trousers for hiking;
- ⛺ Tent;
- 🛏️ Sleeping bag and sleeping mat;
- 🔦 Torch or headlamp with spare batteries;
- 💧 Water bottle;
- 🎒 Small hiking backpack for food and water;
- 🍽️ Camping utensils — plate, cup, spoon and fork;
- 🧥 Rain jacket and warm clothing;
- ☀️ Sun protection;
- 🦟 Insect and tick repellent;
- 🔋 Fully charged power bank;
- 💊 Personal medication;
- 🥢 Hiking poles are recommended.
🏡 Guesthouse in Khino
If you prefer not to camp, accommodation in a guesthouse in Khino is available.
- 🛏️ Each room has two beds;
- 💰 One room costs 100 GEL per night;
- 🏠 A total of six rooms are available.

🧭 Safety and Support
The tour will be led by experienced guides.
Bicycle technical assistance will also be available along the route if required.
⚠️ The route and daily schedule may change depending on the weather, road conditions or safety-related circumstances.
💳 Transport and Luggage Service Fees
Choose the service that best suits your needs:
🚴♂️🧳🚍 225 GEL
Transportation of the participant, bicycle and luggage from Tbilisi to the starting point of the route and back to Tbilisi.
🚴♂️🧳 80 GEL
Transportation of the bicycle and luggage only, if you travel to the starting point and back using your own transport.
🧳 40 GEL
Luggage transportation throughout the route, if you arrive at the event using your own transport and also return independently.

The registration deadline is 24 August.
